STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is:
- To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
- To develop a creative, supportive fellowship.
- To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

2010 UMW OUTSTANDING MISSION AWARD
The UMW Outstanding Mission Award is given in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and compassion in serving SJUMC. The 2010 award recipients are Victor and Shigeko Shibata, Mary Fujimoto, and Joseph Osuga.
